Inter target Luka Modric is set to meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez next week to discuss his future with the club according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Reports coming out of Spain suggesting Modric and his family are happy to stay in Madrid do not worry the Nerazzurri according to the same report which goes on to state that Inter are biding their time until after the meeting.
Inter officials have already met with the 32-year-old’s representatives as well as their Real Madrid counterparts to hold initial discussions. The move is now completely in the hands of Modric and his representatives who could go down the route of Cristiano Ronaldo, who used his agent to get him out of Los Blancos and join Juventus.
The Milan based newspaper’s report also states that Inter intend to soften the blow of Modric’s €10 million per annum salary by spreading it over more years. Modric currently has two years left on his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu but other reports have suggested he could be handed as much as a four year deal at Inter.
