Spanish Journalist Believes Real Madrid’s Past Treatment Of Ronaldo Could Benefit Inter’s Modric Assault

Spanish journalist Manuel Esteban, more commonly known simply as Manolete, believes the fact Real Madrid gave in to Cristiano Ronaldo’s demands to leave the club gives them no leg to stand on when it comes to trying to stop Luka Modric from leaving amid continued interest from Inter.

Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes forced a move to Juventus through earlier this summer and Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has attempted to deter Inter by insisting they must pay Modric’s €750 million release clause.

“It is logical that Perez has put his foot down for Modric. He knows that he is a leader at Real Madrid but I remain convinced that the precedent of having said yes to everything Cristiano Ronaldo asked in the past has created a bad tradition,” the AS journalist tweeted.
