Inter are preparing a shock move for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they look to upgrade their midfield options ahead of the coming season, according to reports in the Italian capital.

The Serbian returned to pre-season training ahead of the new campaign this week but continues to be linked with a move away from the Biancoceleste, with Juventus and Manchester United thought to be the two clubs most interested in the player.

However Rome-based publication Il Messaggero believes that Inter are now ready to splash the cash in order to secure the 23 year-old’s services, who has four years left on his contract at Lazio, and are preparing a cash-plus-player offer for president Claudio Lotito.

The Nerazzurri would be willing to offer Lazio a paid loan worth €30 million followed by an option to buy for €70 million, along with Jiangsu Suning midfielder Ramires, whom Simone Inzaghi is thought to be interested in signing.

Ramires would first sign for Inter from the Nerazzurri’s sister club and then be sent to the Biancoceleste, were a deal to be agreed. However the paper also underlines that negotiating with Lotito is always very difficult.
