Ivan Perisic has told reporters in Croatia that he has offers from ‘several clubs’ as the summer transfer window enters its final fortnight, but says that he must speak to Inter before making a decision over his future.

Perisic is due to begin pre-season training with the Nerazzurri on Friday after the conclusion of his post-World Cup holidays, which did not begin until mid-July, but has been linked with numerous clubs across Europe after an excellent showing in Russia that included goals in both the semifinals and the final.

According to German sports tabloid Sport Bild, who has translated part of the forward’s interview given to Croatian site Sportske novotski on Friday, Perisic also spoke highly of new Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac and did not close the door on a move to the Bundesliga giants.

“Niko Kovac has had a big influence on me,” he is quoted as saying. “I played very well for Croatia when he was the manager.

“We’ve congratulated each other for everything we’ve done together – if he wants me, he knows where to find me.”

Perisic also clarified comments he had made previously about where he would want to move should he leave Inter (‘if I were to leave Inter it would be for another top European club’), suggesting that the Premier League and La Liga would be his preferred destinations.

“I want to play in England or Spain. I’ve heard that several clubs want to sign me, but I need to speak with Inter first. Only after that will I be able to consider the offers and make a decision.”
