Inter continue to bide their time for number one target Luka Modric. The Croatian midfielder failed to report for pre-season training yesterday and is now not expected back until Wednesday to begin his preparations for the coming season.

The Croatian midfielder is set to meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to discuss his future at the Santiago Bernabeu and until this meeting has taken place Inter can only sit and wait, a report from Sky Sport suggests.

The same report also states that with just four days remaining in the English transfer window, it is growing increasingly unlikely that Ivan Perisic will complete a transfer to Manchester United. Last summer the Old Trafford club were very keen on signing the Inter winger and reignited their interest following Perisic’s displays at the World Cup. The English window shutting soon also has an adverse affect on the Nerazzurri’s hopes of landing Matteo Darmian from the Red Devils.
