Former Inter manager Andrea Stramaccioni spoke on Matteo Politano – who he coached at youth level, Inter’s chances of competing with Juventus this season and Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in Italy in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He [Politano] will be behind great players like Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva, but he knows he has to give 200% every day and learn from these champions. He has talent that will be very useful at Inter and he has the ability to change the games in multiple positions, he must be himself: humble and hungry.”

Speaking on whether Inter can compete, Stramaccioni added…

“Juventus is ahead of everyone, but I think a lot of Spalletti and I really like the team. I’ve seen he’s doing three-man defence experiments, with which he did great things at Roma and I’m intrigued by his different tactical setups.”

In conclusion he discussed the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

“It was an incredible deal born from Cristiano’s desire to change and from the incredible overhead kick that saw him appreciated at the stadium.”
