Several reports from Italy suggest that a transfer to Sampdroia from Inter could be on the cards for Nerazzurri Portuguese international Joao Mario.

According to SportItalia, Joao Mario and Sampdoria director Walter Sabatini were seen together at the Me Hotel in central Milano. The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with a move to the Blucerchiati these recent days and remains an option for the club but the player is waiting to see if any offers arrive from the Premier League, but so far the ones that have arrived have not satisfied Inter.

Italian transfer news portal TMW confirm that Joao Mario has been sighted entering the same hotel Sabatini is at but that any deal will be very complicated given the former Sporting player’s high wages which the club cannot afford.

Joao Mario joined Inter in the summer of 2016 for a reported transfer fee of €40 million and has never really settled in at the club.
