Corriere dello Sport have suggested that the proposed meeting between Inter’s top target Luka Modric and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez – which was expected to take place today – could in fact take place tomorrow instead.

As things stand the move is currently on standby for Inter until they learn the outcome of the meeting but they are hopeful.

Perez and other Real Madrid officials for that matter have had enough of Modric’s agents Vlad Predrag Lemic and Mijatovic due to them holding talks with Inter behind their back and Perez specifically requested to meet Modric alone to avoid any influence from the duo during talks. Perez is also unhappy with Modric for his role in all of this due to still being under contract with the club for a further two years.

The report from the Rome based publication goes on to suggest that Perez is ready to give the 32-year-old a new contract to convince him to stay but Modric and his agents are looking to take full advantage of a gentlemans agreement that would allow Modric to depart after six years at the club.

Depending on the outcome of the meeting, whether it take place today or tomorrow, the perfect opportunity for the clubs to meet face-to-face and hold talks could arrive on Saturday with Inter set to arrive in the Spanish capital ahead of a friendly with Atletico Madrid.
