AS Monaco’s Vice President Vadim Vasilyev spoke today about the current summer transfer window and the links being made this week between Inter and their winger Keita Balde Diao.

The Russian managed to avoid a direct answer to questions about the Senegalese player but did talk to the French club’s official TV channel saying: “We have quality, but we still have a lot of work to do to make this team competitive. The team is ready and I am concentrated on what opportunities this transfer window may bring us.”

Inter have been linked heavily this week with a move for the Senegal and former Lazio winger. The ex Barcelona youth team player left the Italian capital for Monaco only last summer but didn’t have the impact on Ligue 1 that he or his team would have hoped for as he made 23 appearances scoring just 8 goals and setting up 5. A player exchange deal with Inter’s Antonio Candreva look like being the most likely way to get the deal done but nothing has been agreed so far.
