Spanish side Real Betis are said to be interested in Inter’s Portuguese midfielder, Joao Mario.

The former Sporting Lisbon player has been attracting a lot of interest from FA Premier League sides where the player spent the second half of last season on loan after a poor start under Luciano Spalletti at Inter. But now with the window officially closed in England, this interest from the Spanish side has opened up the market a little more for the Portuguese international. With the transfer window closing on the 31st August in Spain, it seems that Betis have had a very specific plan in place to try and sign the player all along.

It now seems that that plan has played brilliantly into their hands. Spanish website estadiodeportivo.com reports that the plan all along was to bide their time and wait for the window to close in England before making their move. Inter have always been against the idea of a loan with a right to buy but Real Betis officials are working towards getting a deal done that pleases everyone involved.
