Joao Mario wanted a return to the Premier League this transfer window but no deals arrived that convinced the Inter management in to dealing him according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The only proposals to arrive from England, as per the report, were using a loan with redemption option basis. Inter knocked these offers back not because they want to keep Joao Mario around but because they are instead looking to move the outcast midfielder on on a permanent basis or on a loan deal that includes a redemption obligation.

Inter continue to await offers that meet their demands and such offers could arrive from Real Betis and Sporting Lisbon, two clubs who have been reported as being interested in signing the 25-year-old in recent weeks.

The Portuguese international joined Inter two summers ago but has failed to live up to the hype that surrounded him upon signing but was able to find some form again when shipped out on loan to West Ham for the second half of last season.
