Inter will continue to chase Croatian superstar Luka Modric until every last possibility is exhausted, according to Milano-based newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport who explains that, should the Croat not arrive to Milano, there is no plan B at the moment.
According to the report, instead an internal solution would be the alternative: “Considering that Inter coach Luciano Spalletti’s basic module, at least for the start of the season, will be a 4-2-3-1, the only “vacant spot” is the one next to Brozovic. Spalletti will start with two important signings from the last couple of transfer windows: Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino, but in comparison with last season when the two of them were not reliable for longer periods, this time there are alternatives. The first one is Asamoah, signed for the left fullback role but also capable of playing in the middle and D’Ambrosio and Dalbert will replace him should he move further up in the pitch.
“The second alternative is to use Nainggolan as a pure midfielder. ‘Ninja’ is at his best a couple of meters further up the pitch, but should Lautaro have a breakthrough season, Radja could be very useful in the middle. At least in some games” Gazzetta reports.
