Inter player Matteo Politano was interviewed by Sky Sport at Christian Vieri’s summer tournament Bobo Summer Cup in Cervia, fresh after the Nerazzurri arrived from Madrid last night.
Politano began by saying that: “I really needed to be here, in the middle of these people, for this splendig initiative to help children” before turning to Inter and in particular Lautaro Martinez saying: “He is a great player, he is demonstrating his value and he has time to improve.
“Yesterday he scored a great goal, we needed to do well in this the last friendly given that the Serie A begins in one week. We are happy with how our preseason has gone and from Monday we will focus on the debut of the Serie A” the former Sassuolo player continued.
What have you learned from the preseason?
“First of all that Lautaro and Mauro Icardi will drag oss through. Inter is giving me a lot, it is an honor for me to play for the Nerazzurri. I am happy to be able to return immediately to play against Sassuolo, where I played for three years and have amazing memories from. However, now I play with Inter, I hope that my first goal will come already against Sassuolo but I won’t celebrate out of respect for the club.”
In conclusion Politano was asked about making his debut in the Champions League stating that: “It was a dream to play in it, now that we are playing in it I am sure that it will be an amazing experience.”
