After a few days of claiming that Real Madrid’s Croatian superstar Luka Modric had decided to renew with the Los Merengues and therefore having declined a move to Inter, Spanish media outlet AS now backtracks entirely reporting that the former Spurs man in fact is pushing for a move to the Nerazzurri.
According to the latest report by AS, quoting unnamed agents involved in the transfer, they are waiting for the final meeting between Modric and the club’s Directors, scheduled to take place in the aftermath of the upcoming European Supercup fixture against cross town rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Madrid derby is the principle reason why the talks have cooled down according to AS but after the match the Italian window closes in less than 48 hours which could prove to short a time frame to conclude the deal and for Real Madrid to find a replacement.
However, AS conclude that Modric has decided that he wants to move to Inter as he considers his time with the club to have come to an end but should Real Madrid decline the final attempt he wont resist them.
