Luka Modric will meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez tomorrow wherein he and his agent will try and convince the Real Madrid number one to allow him to leave and request he honours the gentleman’s agreement according to a report from Mundo Deportivo.

Inter remain hopeful that they can get a deal done for the 32-year-old Croatian international but everything would now appear to depend on whether or not Los Blancos can secure themselves a replacement.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen is the favourite despite the Premier League club demanding no less than €200 million for their Danish star. Other potential replacement for Modric are Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic and Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

In short, Mundo Deportivo report that it is a complicated scenario for both Modric and Perez and with all things considered, it would suggest that this saga could go down to the wire.
