A guest in the Sky Sport studio for the UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has brought an update on the future of Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, who is subject to strong interest from Inter.

“After tonight the agents will insist again with the Merengues club to let him leave. They have never stopped insisting and will try again and will have to get a response by tomorrow at the latest because then it would become difficult to bring him to Milan,” he said. “The player, however, has chosen not to break with the environment of Real, he is insisting to go away but wants to do so in a certain way,” Di Marzio added.

Inter have been after Modric for about a month but face a race against time to get a deal done if Real Madrid open up to a sale due to the fact the transfer window in Italy shuts on Friday.
