Transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla has brought an update on the future of Inter midfielder Joao Mario, who is at the centre of a transfer tug of war between rivals Real Betis and Sevilla.

“There have been talks with both Real Betis and with Sevilla. The latter has a higher economic availability and even more so after the sale of Steven N’Zonzi to Roma meanwhile Betis wants to improve the proposal to be presented to the Nerazzurri, with the Portuguese who is always looking for the best solution.

Pedulla concluded that in the end Inter may even opt to keep the 25-year-old around despite reportedly warning the midfielder that he will be left on the sidelines and not get any playing time if he does not secure a move away for himself during the transfer window.

“The game is open, also because Inter, if they do not receive any satisfactory offers, could also decide to keep the Lusitanian midfielder.”
