Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had in fact considered selling Inter target Luka Modric to them but decided against doing it due to the what are described as ‘impossible conditions’ proposed by the Nerazzurri according to a report from Sportske Novosti from Modric’s native Croatia.
“Inter offered impossible economic conditions to Real Madrid for Modric. Besides that, Perez is very full of himself and does not like when the players, especially the important ones, want to leave the club or when they do not want to play,” the report states.
The report concludes by also bringing details on the 32-year-old’s future with Los Blancos and suggest a new and improved contract will be offered to him .
“Now it is thought that Modric will have his contract renewed by Real Madrid with a 50% increase but his silence on the whole matter does not make the Spanish club and its fans feel safe.”
