Despite Real Madrid Director Emilio Butragueño declaring that Croatian international midfielder Luka Modric is happy at the club, Italian TV Channel Sky Sport Italia claim that the transfer saga is far from over.

According to Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, tomorrow the player’s agents will make one last try to convince Real Madrid President Florentino Perez to keep his word regarding the gentleman’s agreement between the two, and allow the former Spurs man to leave.

Di Marzio stated that: “Inter are waiting in a calm and collected manner and we will see if this defeat [against Atletico Madrid] will make Perez even more sure in his decision to not let the player leave.”

Real Madrid lost the European Supercup final to crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid and Luka Modric came on in the second half as a substitute but was unable to help the reigning Champions League winners retain the trophy.
