With less than a day left before the Italian transfer window shuts, it is looking less and less likely that Inter will be able to capture the dream signing of Luka Modric from Real Madrid Italian TV Channel Sky Sport Italia reports.

According to the report, in the past few hours new contacts have been made between Luka Modric’s agents and the Real Madrid leadership where the Croatian international midfielder’s representatives reiterated the player’s desire to leave the Los Merengues to be able to join the Nerazzurri.

The player’s entourage reminded the Real Madrid directors of the gentleman’s agreement between Real Madrid President Florentino Perez and Modric where the Madrid President promised that whenever the former Spurs midfielder wanted to leave he would be allowed to do so without any fuss.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Real Madrid refused their request once again and it seems that Inter’s dream of signing Modric will not become a reality, at least this summer.
