Luka Modric is Inter’s only option, there is no back-up plan to him if they are unable to sign him according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.
“Inter have clear ideas, they wait with serenity for a signal from Luka Modric. Now it is clear, the Real Madrid wall does not crumble and only a twist can reopen a question on which the Nerazzurri leaders have already set everything up for in recent weeks.
“There is not the will to spend more: Modric has always represented the potential exception, the gift of Suning to the fans, a (very difficult) surprise to try for where there is no list of alternatives.”
The report goes on to state that this is exactly why Inter have not went back in for Rafinha.
“In short it is for this reason they have not reopened the channel on the Rafinha front, estimated to cost €40/45 million from Barcelona and on which there has never been any opening to the loan with a right of redemption. The path of the Brazilian in Milan ended last June and will remain so without a gift from the Blaugrana.
“Everyone at Inter has clear ideas, the only icing on the cake can be Modric, otherwise the signings so far will be considered more than enough. In fact, the Nerazzurri management believes that they have set up a top-level team with many excellent investments.”
