Former Inter player Beppe Bergomi pointed out a possible gap in Inter’s squad when analyzing the Nerazzurri’s dealings on the transfer market.

The former Nerazzurri captain turned pundit on Sky Sport Italia stated that: “The team is built well, I like physical teams, then there’s Lautaro Martinez who has shown to prove everyone right with the comparisons, but for me there is a lack of quality: for example, we have seen at the World Cup how set-pieces in football determine things a lot, and Inter have many player’s that are strong in the air but no one is a set-piece specialist. I would have bought a player with that characteristic.”

Beppe Bergomi made 519 appearances for Inter in his career and has since become a journalist for Sky Sports in Italy.

With the summer transfer window now firmly closed, the time has come to reflect on Inter’s seven first team acquisitions. The Nerazzurri have brought in both experience and quality with the additions of Radja Nainggolan, Stefan De Vrij, Kwawoh Asamoah, Matteo Politano, Keita Balde Diao, Sime Vrsjalko and Lautaro Martinez.
