Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian, who has drawn links to Inter over the course of the summer, has refused to rule out leaving the Red Devils if it meant he would get more playing time while meanwhile sharing his desire to return to play in Italy.

“United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, everyone has to deserve a place and I am working on this but of course I would prefer to play more, even if I have to leave Manchester. I dream of returning to Italy and Serie A, where I got a lot of satisfactions in the past, there is a train also known as the Italian National Team that I can not miss…so let us see what happens by 8PM [CET] tonight.”

Darmian then spoke on his predictions for the coming Serie A season in the interview with Libero.

“Juventus remains the team to beat and therefore we can say that they are the number one contender for the title. Inter have worked very well, strengthening and trying to fill the gap with the others, as well as Milan after a season of under performing. I’m also looking at Roma and Napoli that took a certain Carlo Ancelotti for the bench. It will be a good fight,” he concluded.
