Rai Sport journalist Ciro Venerato has spoken on Napoli and their lack of reinforcements in comparision to others including Inter ahead of the Serie A season commencing.

“Napoli is a team that starts the season from 91 points, but they have changed their coach and have not strengthened on a par with the others during the transfer window. I think it will be hard for them to repeat the second place last year and I see Inter as being better placed as an anti-Juventus, if you like. Napoli can fight for the Champions League, but the first two places are armoured [by Juventus and Inter]. I do not think that Napoli can compete for the Scudetto,” Venerato said during an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

Napoli kick start their Serie A campaign with a tricky trip away to Lazio in the Italian capital of Rome in what will be manager Carlo Ancelotti’s first competitive game in charge having taken over from Maurizio Sarri.
