Milan sporting director Leonardo spoke on how he feels the Rossoneri performed in the transfer window and also commented on some of their league rivals, including city rivals Inter.

“The arrival of Diego Laxalt was linked to Gianluca Lapadula’s sale. We’re happy with the result, the squad is balanced. The deal with Higuain is a loan with an option, as it is for Bakayoko and André Silva. It is a very common formula for a number of reasons, especially as we are starting a path with new owners and this allows us to make choices this year,” the Brazilian said.

Leonardo, who spent one season as manager of Inter, proceeded to discuss how Inter have done as well as revealing he does not believe it will be so easy for Juventus to win an 8th straight title.

“It [Juventus winning] is not that obvious. All cycles end one day, and Juventus will be very focused on the Champions League. Inter have strengthened in an important way and Roma can keep pace as they did before. Lazio did well last year, Napoli have Ancelotti and we are competitive too.”
