In an interview with UOL Esporte, Santos president, Jose Carlos Peres spoke about Gabriel Barbosa, the striker who was unable to perform at Inter and is currently on loan at Santos:
Peres was asked if Gabigol could stay at the club to which he replied: “His contract with us expires on December 31st. He is valued very highly by Inter but we must know that anything can happen. We need to understand what is best for the team and act accordingly. If Inter were to receive another offer for Barbosa, they will send him to another club, otherwise he could possibly continue to play for us. But this is the future and it is impossible to know what is going to happen, we will see what happens in December and then we can talk about Gabriel Barbosa’s future.”
Gabriel Barbosa, who is about to celebrate his 22nd birthday later this month, has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Santos scoring 7 goals in the process.
