Sevilla have cooled their interested in signing Inter midfielder Joao Mario, at least according to former football agent Graziano Battistini.

The outcast midfielder has reportedly been at the centre of a transfer tug of war between Sevilla and their city rivals Real Betis and it is unclear what has lead to Sevilla taking a step back.

“I do not know that Seville is so interested anymore, but things can change,” Battistini said in an interview with RMC Sport. “The Spanish transfer window is still open and there will certainly be some offers [for him].

Joao Mario joined Inter two summers ago from Sporting Lisbon off the back of starring at EURO 2016 in which he was part of the victorious Portugal team. Despite some flashes of brilliance in an Inter shirt, he has not performed as expected on a regular basis and his days with the club look to be numbered.
