Asamoah & Martinez Primed For Full Inter Debuts Against Sassuolo

Kwadwo Asamoah and Lautaro Martinez are poised to make their full debuts for Inter when the Nerazzurri open up their Serie A campaign against Sassuolo on Sunday evening, as reported by Tuttosport.

Both players secured their moves to Inter before the end of the previous season and were thus able to take part in preseason training from day one, with both the Ghanaian midfielder and the Argentine forward making a positive first impression in the various friendly matches Luciano Spalletti have played.

Now however is when things begin to get serious and it’s time for the pair to convert their summer promise into performances when it really matters, with Spalletti expected to include both in his first competitive starting XI of the 2018-19 season.

Asamoah is poised to take Ivan Perisic’s place on the left-hand side of midfield while Martinez will play in the no. 10 position vacated by Radja Nainggolan, who will miss Sunday’s match through injury.

Mauro Icardi will start up front in Inter’s 4-2-3-1 system while Matias Vecino and Marcelo Brozovic play in midfield. Samir Handanovic will play in goal behind Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan De Vrij, Miranda and Dalbert, with former Sassuolo player Matteo Politano completing the attacking line-up against his old club.
