Italian television presenter and die-hard Inter supporter Paolo Bonolis has spoken of his love for three of Inter’s most famous players in the modern era.

Bonolis has worked as a host for various different networks since the 1980s and sat down for a long interview with Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday, in which he discussed his passion for the Nerazzurri and offered his thoughts on the upcoming campaign.

“The Triplete season is one of my most cherished moments as an Interista,” he said. “When you become the first team in Italy to win three trophies in one season you’ve hit the jackpot. A nice way to get your revenge [on Juventus, following Calciopoli]…

“After that, I also remember a derby we won 3-2 with a last-minute header from Adriano [back in December 2005]. I remember it not only because of the victory over Milan, but also because I’d had a dream the previous evening in which I’d foreseen the exact result of the match: I put a bet on it and won a fortune.

“I also have great memories of Inter signing certain players: I went crazy when [Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge arrived as I adored him, but also when we bought Ronaldo. I was also madly in love with [Esteban] Cambiasso.

“Will Juventus be the dominant force again this season? I hope not. It won’t be easy to stop them, especially in a long competition like a league season: they really have so many top players and a squad depth that no one else has. But I hope we can do something.

“I like Spalletti a lot. I was fortunate enough to meet him once and he was extremely kind with me. He’s building a team alongside the club that I think looks very good: we’ve worked well in the mercato this summer, not least because you need options off the bench when you’re competing on three fronts.”
