Inter manager Luciano Spalletti spoke with DAZN following the Nerazzurri’s opening day Serie A 1-0 defeat away to Sassuolo.

The Nerazzurri tactical began by saying “We talked at the end of the game with everyone but it’s all right, I would rather focus on the game more than on my talk with the team. Sassuolo played well, they were good on the counterattack because it’s easier to expect and come and press, and it’s easier to lose balls like we did today on a field like this. The field affects us and the way we play much more than those who play on the counter.”

When asked if Ivan Perisic and Sime Vrsaljko’s fitness affected anything, Spalletti assured, “The Croats delays have not affected anything, the games are won and lost by those who play in them not the ones who are not there.”

Spalletti proceeded to speak on Dalbert, who did not have the best of games and the teams performance in general.

“Dalbert’s timing was a bit off, he can do better certainly and can put teams in trouble with his crosses but just talking about him makes him look like a scapegoat. The team today played the game that they had to do for long stretches but when Sassuolo changed things up it was difficult to find spaces. Once they took their lead it was more complicated.”
