Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has insisted that he and his teammates must pick up maximum points from the next match following a defeat to Sassuolo on the opening day of the 2018/19 Serie A season.

“The performance was there but the goal[s] just were not but it must be said that the field was impractical. We have to look at things with the glass half full and get three points in the next game,” the full back explained in an interview with Inter TV post match at the MAPEI Stadium.

“The fans have always been on our side, even in difficult times and now it is up to us to start again and sacrifice ourselves for the shirt like we did last year.

The Italian international concluded by talking on the signings made during the summer transfer window.

“Many have arrived later after the World Cup and we have seen little from them but we have players who can, even if not 100% fit, decide games on their own. We are already looking to next Sunday, now we must take six points in the next two matches.”
