Chievo Verona attacker Emmanuele Giaccherini believes Inter can still fight for the scudetto despite slipping up on match day one of the 2018/19 Serie A season with a 1-0 defeat away to Sassuolo.
“Inter’s defeat to Sassuolo was unexpected but they will fight until the end for the scudetto because their team is excellent,” the 33-year-old said in an interview with RMC Sport.
The Italian international – who scored in the Flying Donkeys 3-2 defeat to Juventus at the weekend – proceeded to discuss the situation of his former club Juventus, who pulled off arguably the transfer of the summer by bringing in multi-time world player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo with relative ease from Real Madrid and are looking to win their eighth straight league title.
“It is hard to judge Juventus, they have an incredible attacking arsenal and Cristiano Ronaldo will help them to make a leap in quality when playing in Europe.”
