Speaking to Tuttosport, Italin pundit Claudio Pasqualin discusses the transfer market and the overall impact on the Serie A.

Pasqualin began by speaking about the transfer window: “The transfer market has been resounding, but there have been many cases of teams using the loan with the right or obligation of redemption formula. There have been huge investments made by the clubs, thus leading to an increase in the appeal of the Serie A on a global level. It has been a long time since I’ve seen this level of investment in the Serie A.”

What about Modric?

“Modric is a player who would be able to approach the quality provided by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, he would have been at that level, but regardless of Modric, it was a very positive market that will show its effects on Italian football in the near future.”

Has the distance between Juventus and other clubs increased?

“On paper, yes, Marotta and Paratici have built an almost invincible machine, but every week they will have to prove it on the pitch. There are no guarantees as to who will win the scudetto, but Juventus are favorites.”

Who can dethrone Juventus?

“Inter has completed a fantastic market where they have acquired new players that represent both quality and reliability. I am thinking of Vrsaljko, Asamoah, De Vrij, Nainggolan, and Lautaro Martinez.”

What about Roma?

“I want to wish Nzonzi good luck and I also like Justin Kluivert, I think the Ajax academy is one of the best.”

Napoli has been criticized, what do you think?

“I agree with the critics and I respect Ancelotti’s decision to face a new exciting adventure and immediately immerse himself by joining Napoli, but their market has been disappointing.”
