A few days have passed since the Italian transfer window slammed shut and with the dust now settled, football agent Dario Canovi reflected on a transfer window that saw many Italian clubs make big moves on the market to strengthen their sides ahead of the new campaign beginning.
“It was a livelier market than we have seen in the last few years, there have been important arrivals, someone like Luka Modric was lacking, but it was an exciting transfer window nevertheless,” Canovi said in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
Juventus signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus but Canovi believes that there were clubs that still had better transfer windows than the Bianconeri did.
“Who had a better transfer window than Juventus? Inter, Milan and Roma all had better windows. If Modric had arrived at the Nerazzurri, I would have put Spalletti’s team among the main competitors to Juventus for the Scudetto.”
