Tuttosport suggest that not until September the ‘real’ Inter is likely to be truly seen but in order for Inter to get there, manager Luciano Spalletti has four tasks to complete.

Firstly, Spalletti must get Marcelo Brozovic to perform to the levels he showed last season and have him doing so on a regular consistent basis rather than inconsistent. Secondly, Spalletti must, in the words of the Turin newspaper, “sew a tailored suit” to make Stefan de Vrij better. Thirdly, Spalletti must get Lautaro Martinez accustomed to the Italian game to allow him to perform like he did over pre-season. Fourthly and finally, Spalletti must recover Radja Nainggolan and have him hit peak performance again like he did in the 2016/17 season at Roma where he scored 11 goals.

The reason it will take longer to see the ‘real’ Inter has to do with their return to the Champions League where preparations have been different to allow the Nerazzurri to progress from the group stage.
