Joao Mario Rejects Turkish Offers In Favour Of Inter Stay

Inter midfielder Joao Mario has rejected three offers from Turkish clubs in favour of remaining at the Nerazzurri according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb.

The reasoning behind the Portuguese’s decision to knock back offers – one of which came from Besiktas – stems from Turkey’s recent financial problems. With the transfer window nearing its close in other top European leagues it is looking increasingly likely that the 25-year-old will still be with Inter come September 1st and be available to manager Luciano Spalletti at least until January when the transfer window opens again.

Reports doing the rounds at the moment suggest that Joao Mario had already had an agreement in place with Spanish side Real Betis but the Seville based club are now in fact looking closer to signing former Inter loan star Rafinha instead.

Joao Mario joined Inter back in 2016 from Sporting Lisbon but has ultimately failed to deliver as expected which saw him loaned out to West Ham for the second half of last season.
