Despite a disappointing result at home to Roma last week, Torino are firmly placed to have an impact on the Serie A season.

This is the opinion of former Granata player Antonio Asta, as reported by RMC Sport: “Walter Mazzarri’s side could well have won the game against Roma. They were unlucky overall, as certain episodes did not fall in their favour.

“On Sunday we could see the new purchases and it will be a solid team from now to the end of the season. Certainly, when we face the big clubs, we will not go into the games expecting to lose.”

The Granata, who finished 9th in Serie A last season, had a productive transfer market and were able to add some intriguing players to their squad. Two Italians, Simeone Zaza and Roberto Soriano, returned from La Liga whilst they also secured Soualiho Meïté from Monaco and Armando Izzo from Genoa.
