Real Betis await news from Barcelona on Rafinha but maintain an interest in Inter midfielder Joao Mario in case Barcelona reject their advances for the Brazilian according to a report from Spanish newspaper AS.

Joao Mario already has an agreement in principle over personal terms with the Andalusian club and has knocked back offers from several Turkish clubs – including Besiktas – as well as Russian clubs. The Portuguese has also attracted interest from Germany from Schalke but it is understood that he prefers a move to Betis over Schalke.

However, AS go on to report that Inter are holding out for a €25 million outright fee or €8 million loan fee to part ways with the 25-year-old so to not record a loss on their balance sheets.

The Portuguese international joined Inter back in 2016 and has made just shy of 50 appearances in a Nerazzurri shirt where he has scored three times and tallied a dozen assists.
