Inter goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio has officially joined Serie C side Novara on a season-long loan on Friday.

Di Gregorio had already signed for Serie B club Avellino with the same formula at the beginning of July, but was forced to return to the Nerazzurri after just four weeks when the Irpini were thrown out of Italy’s second tier for financial irregularities.

Inter were thus tasked with finding a new club for their former youth team talent, who was part of the side that won the 2017 Primavera Scudetto under Stefano Vecchi, and on Friday the club released a brief statement to confirm that they had found another destination for the 21 year-old.

“Inter can confirm that Michele Di Gregorio has joined Novara Calcio on a season-long loan,” it said.

Di Gregorio spent the 2017-18 season on loan at fellow Serie C side Renate, where he impressed by collecting 14 clean sheets in 33 league appearances, helping Roberto Cevoli’s men to qualify for the end-of-season playoffs before they suffered a first-round defeat to Bassano Virtus.
