Marco Tardelli: “Inter Were Perfect In The First Half But Afraid In The Second Half”

Former Inter defensive midfielder and manager Marco Tardelli spoke on Inter’s performance in the 2-2 draw with Torino last night that saw the Nerazzurri squander a two goal lead.

“The first half was perfect from Inter but then something happened in the second half. There was a physical loss but also a mental one too,” Tardelli remarked in an interview with La Domenica Sportiva.

Tardelli, who was part of Italy’s 1982 World Cup winning squad, then spoke on why he believes Inter collapsed when they came out for the second half.

“In the second half the team was afraid, they had went back into the dressing room at half time convinced that they had won the match. It should not be possible to have these sort of collapses, Luciano Spalletti will have to work on the players head. He has put a good team on the field but there is a player in midfield missing.”
