Former Inter striker Roberto Boninsegna believes that Inter are missing a regista in their squad and does not believe that Milan Brozovic, despite showing promise, is the long term solution.
“The match against Torino confirms that this team is missing a true regista. Inter were right to aim for a player like Luka Modric, but maybe it would have been better to take another regista, someone like Milan Badelj For example, who would not have cost Inter a lot unlike the big players. “Brozovic is a makeshift solution, he sacrifices himself but he is truly a playmaker,” Boninsegna said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
Boninsegna also spoke on Radja Nainggolan and where he believes he will be best deployed in an Inter jersey following his summer arrival from Roma.
“The return of Nainggolan? Radja is a great player but we will have to wait and see where he will find space in the team. For me he has to be played in behind the striker(s).”
