Former Inter Loanee Rafinha’s Transfer To Betis Depends on Benfica

There are just two days and a few hours before the closing of the summer transfer window in Spain and so far there is no movement on the Rafinha to Real Betis deal, despite the Andalusian club having increased its offer to Barcelona.

According to Mundo Deportivo the reason is because Benfica are lurking. Tonight they play the return leg of the Champions League playoffs against PAOK Thessaloniki where the first leg in Lisbon ended 1-1.

In the case of qualification for the biggest European competition, the Portuguese side would have more technical arguments to convince the Brazilian, as well as a more attractive economic offer to put on the table in the discussions with the Catalans.

Rafinha returned to Barcelona after a very successful six month loan spell with Inter from January 2018 and despite a very positive pre-season it looks as like he will have to leave before the closing of the Spanish window to secure first team football over the coming season.
