Inter are facing an uphill battle on their return to the Champions League this season in the eyes of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
“Today Inter will be included in the fourth pot and therefore the percentages of being in a very tough group are very high. The second problem that Inter will face and in particular Spalletti is the one linked to the squad list that for the penalties imposed by UEFA on the Nerazzurri for Fair Play Financial will be reduced from 25 to 22 players, that must include 2 players who grew up in their academy and 2 in another Italian one.”
The report goes on to say that Inter will not register Tomasso Berni and due to having no other home-grown players, after the departure of Davide Santon, Inter will only be allowed to name a 20 man squad.
Spalletti will be tasked with having to decide which four players to exclude and it is understood that Joao Mario and Dalbert are both expected not to make the cut.
