Inter president Erick Thohir should leave the club come the annual shareholders meeting in October according to a report from Tuttosport.
When it comes to the Indonesian tycoon selling off his remaining 30% shares to majority shareholders Suning, he will make a good profit on his initial investment in the club.
Moreover, the Turin based newspaper have hailed the importance of the increasingly distant businessman when it came to negotiations with Suning. They believe it was extremely important that Inter had an Asian representative present as they dealt with Suning.
With Thohir all but set to leave the Nerazzurri after five years, it means a new president must be appointed and the two favourite names to become the club’s number one are current vice-president Javier Zanetti and Steven Zhang, son of Suning and Inter owner Jindong. With Jindong heavily involved with affairs at home in China, it is very much unlikely that he would assume the position of president himself.
