Juventus boss Max Allegri believes that Inter can still challenge the Bianconeri for the Scudetto this season, despite their poor start to the new Serie A campaign.

Luciano Spalletti’s side have taken just one point from their opening two games following defeat to Sassuolo and Sunday’s draw at home to Torino, and are under pressure to pick up their first win of the season this weekend when they travel to face Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

However Allegri remains convinced that the Nerazzurri will recover to have a strong season, as he reiterated ahead of Juventus’s trip to Parma on Saturday.

“This year it will be much harder for us to win the Scudetto,” he told reporters during his pre-match press conference. “The top six are much closer together now and even the sides below them have strengthened.

“Inter have a great team regardless of their first two matches, we’ll soon see them back at the right end of the table. Napoli were written off by everyone during the summer while Roma have made a lot of changes.

“It’s not easy to win games in Serie A, we saw that against Chievo. It doesn’t take much to lose that edge you need.”
