Astrid Ericsson has described the chance to work for InterTV as ‘a dream come true’ after being appointed as the in-house channel’s Champions League reporter for the coming season.
Ericsson is a Swedish fashion model who has supported Inter since moving to Italy several years ago, and will be following the Nerazzurri on their European adventures as Luciano Spalletti’s side enjoy the club’s first Champions League campaign in seven seasons.
Speaking to Tuttosport ahead of Thursday’s group stage draw in Nyon, Ericsson spoke of her excitement for the position that awaits her and said she is hoping Inter are not awarded too difficult a group.
“When the club you support and the club you have tattooed on your heart contacts you to ask if you’d be interested to work for them, how can you say no? The opportunity that Inter have given me represents a dream come true.
“I’m not just an Inter supporter for convenience. When I first arrived in Italy some friends of mine took me to San Siro for the first time and I was left speechless. The atmosphere was so incredible that I’ve been back on several occasions since, [not just with friends but] on my own as well.
“I’m studying everything [about the Champions League] at the moment: the pots, possible group opponents and key players. I hope the three teams we’re drawn against in the group aren’t too difficult.”
