At yesterday’s Champions League draw in Montecarlo, Monaco, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez accused Inter of trying to get Luka Modric for nothing, Gazzetta dello Sport detail.

“Inter tried to get a number 10 like him without paying a single euro, something that has never happened in my life,” Perez is understood to have told the gathered media on the sidelines of the draw as the Modric to Inter transfer saga continues.

The Milan based newspaper also brought an update on the situation regarding Los Blancos complaint against the Nerazzurri for the way they allegedly illegally approached Modric. The Spanish club made the complaint to world football’s governing body FIFA and Inter swiftly denied any wrong doing. According to Gazzetta, the preliminary investigation is still in its infancy but there will be no formal investigation because it was the Croatian international, through his agents, who offered himself to the San Siro club.
