Former Inter player, Alessandro Scanziani discusses the uphill battles which Inter will have to face in order to make it out of the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

“Apart from Barcelona, Inter might suffer against Tottenham. They run more than us and are very strong. There is no point in talking about Barcelona, in my opinion they will likely reach the top four of the Champions League, but Inter must go out there and play their best. Another problem is that we are currently not seeing the real Inter, we need to find the best condition and find an identity and impose that identity on the pitch.”

Meanwhile, could the return of Radja Nainggolan help Inter on the pitch?

“Yes, but he will have to find the optimal condition under which he can perform, and we cannot assume that one player alone can make the difference. If Nainggolan gets injured again, will Inter not play well anymore? I repeat, Inter needs to find an identity and that identity should not be affected by whether or not a single player is available to play.”
