Wanda Nara has spoken on her husband Mauro Icardi’s snub from Argentina for the World Cup that took place over the summer.

“Argentina has many great strikers and many of them have played for years in the national team so it was right to bring them to Russia. Mauro knew that was the case,” She explained on Italia 1 show, ‘Tiki Taka.’

“They have called on him sometimes but now there is a new course that targets younger players being used and we hope he is used. It was right of the then coach to bring the others in front of him as he still has 2-3 World Cup’s in him.”

Wanda, who also represents her husband as his agent continued to talk on the potential partnership Icardi and Lautaro Martinez in the national team.

“I think they will be partners and it is hoped that they will be seen together in these friendlies.”

She concluded the interview by confirming the Inter captain does not get himself down amid criticism from Argentine legend Diego Maradona.

“No, he does not get hurt. When he heard these criticisms he always answers politely because he has a lot of respect for Maradona.”
