Legendary midfielder for Inter and Netherlands, Wesley Sneijder will play his final match for his home country tonight in Amsterdam, where they will be hosting Peru.

Ahead of this match, Wesley Sneijder was interviewed by Voetbal International where he spoke on his successful career at Inter. He looked back at the time his teammate, Samuel Eto’o refused to play as a left winger for anyone but Jose Mourinho, who Sneijder also had a very good relationship with during his time with the Nerazzurri.

“Eto’o played left wing for Mourinho, when the coach who arrived later [Rafa Benitez] asked him to do the same, the Cameroonian replied ‘No, I only do it for Mourinho.'”

As he looked back at his career, Mourinho really stood out as one of the best managers he has ever had: “You can only understand him if you’ve worked with him, it’s special how he manages a team of 23-25 players; I saw things with him that I’ve never seen before.”
